Your K-Beauty Routine

Step 1 — Makeup Remover / Cleansing Oil
When? In the evening.
The first step of the Korean double cleanse. It dissolves makeup, sunscreen, excess sebum, and impurities accumulated throughout the day.
Apply to dry skin, massage gently, add a little lukewarm water to emulsify, then rinse thoroughly.
Step 2 — Water-Based Cleanser
When? Morning and evening.
The second step of cleansing to remove sweat residue, impurities, and dead skin cells without stripping the skin's moisture barrier.
Lather with water, massage gently onto damp skin, and rinse with lukewarm water.
Step 3 — Exfoliant
When? 1 to 2 times a week, preferably in the evening.
Exfoliation helps remove dead skin cells, refine skin texture, and unclog pores.
Chemical exfoliants based on AHAs, BHAs, or PHAs are particularly popular in Korean skincare.
Note: this step should not be performed daily.
Step 4 — Toner
When? Morning and evening.
Toner is the first true hydration step after cleansing. It prepares the skin to receive subsequent skincare products.
Pour a few drops into the palms of your hands or onto a cotton pad, then gently pat over the entire face.
Depending on its formula, toner can be hydrating, soothing, purifying, or brightening.
Step 5 — Essence
When? Morning and/or evening.
Essence is one of the iconic steps of the Korean routine.
Lighter than a serum, it deeply hydrates the skin and revives its glow while optimizing the effectiveness of upcoming treatments.
Apply a few drops and gently pat until fully absorbed.
Step 6 — Serum or Ampoule
When? Morning and/or evening.
This step allows you to precisely target your skin's specific needs.
Choose your serum based on your goal:
-
Hyaluronic Acid: intense hydration
-
Niacinamide: visible pores, blemishes, and radiance
-
Centella Asiatica: soothing redness
-
Vitamin C: complexion radiance and spot reduction
-
Peptides: firmness and prevention of signs of aging
-
PDRN: cellular regeneration and overall skin improvement
Apply a few drops to the entire face and neck.
Step 7 — Sheet Mask
When? 1 to 3 times a week.
Sheet masks are a K-Beauty staple.
Infused with highly concentrated essence, they provide a bath of hydration and immediate comfort to the skin.
Leave on for 10 to 20 minutes, remove the mask, and gently pat in the excess product. No rinsing is necessary.
Step 8 — Eye Cream
When? Morning and evening.
The skin around the eyes is thinner and more fragile than the rest of the face.
Take a small pea-sized amount of product and gently tap it in using your ring finger.
Depending on the formula, it helps to hydrate, smooth, brighten, or fade the appearance of dark circles, puffiness, and fine lines.
Step 9 — Moisturizer
When? Morning and evening.
Moisturizer nourishes the epidermis and durably seals in the hydration provided by previous steps.
Adapt the texture to your skin type:
-
Gel or fluid texture: ideal for combination to oily skin
-
Rich and creamy texture: suitable for dry skin
-
Soothing formula: essential for sensitive skin
Apply evenly to the face and neck.
Step 10 — Sun Protection (SPF)
When? Every morning.
Sun protection is one of the most essential steps in your beauty routine.
It protects the skin from UV rays, the main cause of premature skin aging and the appearance of dark spots.
Generously apply SPF 30 to SPF 50+ protection as the final step of your morning routine. Reapply in case of prolonged exposure.
